Power to the people! That has been both a political rallying cry and a song by John Lennon (released in 1971) but it also epitomizes the trend of fashion design that comes from the people and trickles up to the fashion houses. Listen in as host Tori Blackhart takes you on a journey that showcases how the people have influenced the fashions of today, and during the past, instead of the fashion houses alone decreeing what was in style. A special stop on this journey is Woodstock, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month. Ripped jeans and tie-dyed shirts were the order of the day and a look at some of the styles today reveal the same thing. People Rule!
We invite you to click on the Join the Discussion button to add your comments and questions about fashion, style and trends. And hey, give us your reflections on Woodstock fashion. Do you still have a tie-dyed shirt hiding in your closet?
