Accessories are what turn an outfit into fashion. They are no longer an extra; they are a narrative that can transform last season’s outfit into the most stunning and fashionable in the room today.  On the Fashion scene, a change in season usually brings change to your whole wardrobe while trends in fashion accessories don’t necessarily appear one season only to disappear the next.  Sometimes trends can last several seasons. This edition of “Fashion Bytes” shows you the various trends in accessories and how to keep you au currant this fall and into 2010. Power to the people!  That has been both a political rallying cry and a song by John Lennon (released in 1971) but it also epitomizes the trend of fashion design that comes from the people and trickles up to the fashion houses.  Listen in as host Tori Blackhart takes you on a journey that showcases how the people have influenced the fashions of today, and during the past, instead of the fashion houses alone decreeing what was in style.  A special stop on this journey is Woodstock, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month.  Ripped jeans and tie-dyed shirts were the order of the day and a look at some of the styles today reveal the same thing.  People Rule!

We invite you to click on the Join the Discussion button to add your comments and questions about fashion, style and trends.   And hey, give us your reflections on Woodstock fashion.  Do you still have a tie-dyed shirt hiding in your closet?

Our thanks to our sponsor:
Fred Migliore, host of FM Odyssey, the long-running nationally syndicated radio show, has done it again with the special Woodstock 40th Anniversary program.  The show brilliantly weaves together the music, the times and the politics of Woodstock.  (more…)
